Kristy #6

I don’t think that there is one that is more effective than another but these different teaching models that are presented in the reading build one upon the other. It is very important to have discipline in your classroom to build your teaching off of/around. Co- teaching and collaboration are also very good to include in teaching. I really liked how this chapter was all about making meaningful things happen within the theatre and helping the students to engage and understand and then connect and apply. We as teachers need to teach with activities that will help the students make connections and have the “interwoven study and exploration of all aspects of the theatre.” And that they can apply the understanding which they come to in the class and onstage. We shouldn’t be teaching and doing activities just to do them or have them – but really be thinking of the reasoning and purpose behind the activity. In doing this assessments will have a much easier approach, students will be more prepared and know the material that they need to know instead of having random experiences in class that they may remember and may have had fun with, but didn’t understand or have a purpose behind them that they could connect and apply.
